If anyone has ever implied that being a property owner is easy, has a passive amount of work and investment, that person is a liar. There’s a lot to think about! Properties are personal, historical, not to mention a lot to maintain. Bringing a tenant into the picture can equal a brand-new liability into an important investment property. Being a landlord has never been fun and easy, as it takes skills like handiwork, communication, and time management, but at least you’re never alone. Here are a few YouTube channels that are here to help you jump in headfirst into the community of rental property investors. And while you’re surfing the web, check out our on ApplyConnect YouTube channel!
ApplyConnect does not work with or endorse any kind of involvement with the companies listed below. ApplyConnect is only promoting their free video content.
Fourandahalf is a YouTube Channel that posts every other week, so it won’t eat into your time. While their main focus is how to grow your marketing solutions for self-promotion and self-maintenance, they also have a fair amount of educational videos set on property management.
One interesting video is how solid customer service can help you retain tenants. They also cover important topics such as sales mistakes that could hold back your property management, and Do’s and Don’ts for incentivizing online property reviews. With your online presence being just about everything when it comes to your reputation, keep this channel bookmarked.
At the time of writing this piece, Morris Invest just posted a video entitled We Had 3 Evictions At Once. What an impressive title and obviously a lesson every rental property owner wants to learn from in order to avoid the same thing happening to them.
They post about twice a week with varying topics that have to do with the financial side of property management, such as appraising property, and ‘ninja tricks’ to finding value in property that others may not see. If you’re interested in something to get the adrenalin pumping (as if three evictions at once doesn’t), check out their video entitled Someone 🔥BURNED🔥 his house down. That might be better than a morning cup of coffee.
What do we use YouTube for? Besides an endless stream of cat videos, a great number of people use the video streaming service as their personal, at-home tutors. Don’t know how to flip a pancake? YouTube. Trying to get that visual on point? YouTube. Did you accidentally get locked out of your house? Maybe YouTube has something for that, too. There is no denying that at some point, something in your property is going to break, your tenant is going to call complaining, and you might be the one that has to fix it. You also are probably not too eager to hire a professional every single time something breaks – that’s going to add up to a lot of money.
These two home repair channels have some good advice from some rather handy people. Does your tenant prefer ‘flushable wipes?’ You might want to check out what that could do to your plumbing. Maybe it’s just time to fix your water heater. If it’s time for a bathroom makeover, making sure the room is actually waterproofed is something rather important to know. And who doesn’t want some quick remodel tips?
YouTube is a source of endless stream of information. With more than three hundred hours of content uploaded every minute, there is no doubt that no matter what question, YouTube probably has not only an answer but also a second opinion waiting for your double-checking needs.
