Easily Transition your Rental from Daylight Savings Time with our Checklist

With the end of Daylight savings time on Sunday, November 5th, you’ll finally be able to get some much-needed rest! Aside from Arizona and Hawaii, rental properties across the nation will have to set their clocks back by an hour this weekend. Make sure you take advantage of our handy (printable) checklist to help remind you what needs to be changed, whether you have a vacancy or not.

This Sunday, don’t forget to change these things after daylight savings time ends:

  • Automatic lighting on the exterior of your property or garage
  • HVAC panels on your property or office
  • Automatic sprinkler system (prepare for winterizing by avoid night watering in winter weather)
  • Automatic settings for Jacuzzi and pool
  • Clocks in your office and car
  • Your office’s fax machine and phone system
  • Close circuit video security system – DVR’s clock (if applicable)
  • Your property or office’s alarm system
  • The clocks in vacancies being shown
  • Test batteries in all smoke alarms
