Everyone starts by having their identity protected and verified. Renters safely purchase their Experian credit report, and it's automatically shared with the rental property.
Renters and properties receive the tenant screening report. Renters then complete the included rental application and submit it for the property to review and make their decision.
The property notifies all of the rental applicants that have applied through ApplyConnect whether they have been approved, denied, or if there are conditions for their approval.
Most renters purchase a copy of their report to share with properties they apply for, and ApplyConnect is designed for this to be the default process. The property may also choose to purchase the report for their applicants. This can be done easily through the “My Account” tab when logged in, and by checking the box that says “Enable Landlord/Agent Payment”.
Including the zip code of the rental property will add a bonus search to the tenant screening report. ApplyConnect will check the zip code for any local laws on what information can be used in the rental decision, and then will reduce your liabilities by filtering information that isn’t safe to rely on.
No! There is no part of the process that will have an impact on anyone’s credit score. If your social security number is required during the account setup process then it is only a one-time, safe and secure way of verifying your identity. When a report is purchased the renter’s SSN is requested again for the credit report, and it is used for a ‘soft-inquiry’ meaning there will be zero impact to the credit score.
